Young golfer preparing for significant tournament

The rising star has substantial social media audience

Kai Trump will have multiple prominent supporters as she makes her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, was granted a tournament invitation to participate at Florida's Annika event in Florida.

The former president, someone who loves golf, owns multiple golf courses and frequently matches against Kai.

"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she mentioned.

Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."

"He essentially advised me to play and have fun," she added.

"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, making him rather occupied."

While still amateur, Kai has competed in only three events in 2024 and holds position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.

Yet she can seek guidance from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.

"He represents the greatest golfer in the world," Kai expressed.

"Furthermore, he's a more impressive human being. He suggested me to go out there, have fun, adapting to whatever happens."

She'll challenge several most prominent players in women's golf at this tournament, such as world number two the champion, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

The LPGA stated that Kai's presence exposes golf to wider groups, especially among the next generation.

The young star boasts substantial online presence and recently launched a personal apparel and wellness brand.

Her first tee time at 17:30 GMT.
