Ex-Treasury chief Larry Summers is leaving the board at the artificial intelligence firm, just days after a collection of electronic messages between him and deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein became public.

The economist stated in a statement that he was "grateful for the chance to have served, enthusiastic about the potential of the company, and eagerly await observing their development".

The former Harvard president, who previously headed Harvard University, declared on recently that he would be scaling back from public commitments due to his association with Epstein.
