But, the Miami team were focused as they recorded 86 first-half points to be ahead of Memphis by 39 after two quarters, the biggest halftime lead in the team's 37-year history.

Adebayo led the way with 24 scores and afterwards said Rozier had the support of the team.

"We support him. Complete backing," Adebayo said. "We are with him all the way. He's like family ultimately."

Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra added: "Rozier is somebody who is very dear to all of us. He has made a real positive impact on our locker room.

"Our thoughts are with him and support for him as he faces this."

Portland also won their first game since the detentions, with Brazilian Splitter taking over as interim coach in Billups' non-attendance and guiding the team to a decisive 139-119 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

"We all had great experiences with Billups and how he coached," Splitter said. "We're thinking of him and his family but we have a job to do."

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver 'Upset' over Arrests

Speaking about the arrests for the initial occasion, league head Silver stated he was "deeply disturbed" by the incidents of the past few days.

"Nothing is more critical to the league and its fans than the integrity of the game," he told a broadcaster. "And so I felt uneasy. It was very upsetting."

The commissioner also mentioned an NBA investigation into Rozier's conduct in March 2023, when there was "aberrational betting" in a game he played for the Charlotte Hornets versus the New Orleans Pelicans, found nothing untoward.

"We were informed by the regulators and the gambling firms," he continued.

"We then looked into the matter and were very transparent regarding it. Although there was that aberrational betting, we, honestly, found no evidence.

"The federal government has legal authority... [it] can impose penalties, can take various actions that the NBA is unable to.

"Therefore, we've been working with them since then. Naturally, what they announced yesterday was an indictment.

"Moreover two and a half years after, he still hasn't been convicted of any offense, in fairness to Rozier.

"Clearly, it doesn't look good, but he's been suspended, and so it is a balance in this case between upholding rights and conducting an inquiry."
